On Friday, April 4, Cardinal Cupich and the USML community held a special liturgy to celebrate the classes of 1975 and 2000 for the 25th and 50th anniversaries of their ordinations to the priesthood.

The University of Saint Mary of the Lake’s Annual Celebration of Mundelein serves as a cornerstone in supporting Mundelein Seminary and shaping the future of our parish priests. This year we celebrate the remarkable contributions of three distinguished honorees from Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glenview: Sr. Paulanne Held, Fr. Jerry Boland, and Dr. Amy Mills. Their extraordinary dedication to faith, education, and service is a testament to the mission and values of Mundelein Seminary.

MAY CROWNING

May 4, 2025
Please join us on Sunday, May 4 for a Special Mass and May Crowning at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake. Father Kartje will be the main celebrant and homilist. Following May Crowning, there will be a lunch reception.
Old Number 1 will be on Campus!

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of Old Number One! The fire truck is a 1925 Stoughton fire engine and is the first fire engine that the Village of Mundelein ever had. The Engine was donated to the village as a gift from George Cardinal Mundelein as a thank you for changing the name of the village from AREA to Mundelein.

USML HONORS MSGR. MILAM JOSEPH

On March 12, representatives from the University of Saint Mary of the Lake joined friends and family of Rev. Msgr. Milam Joseph in Dallas to recognize and honor the impact that he has made and continues to make in the service of the church. Msgr. Joseph delivered the 2023 Cardinal Meyer lecture, “An Immigrant Church: Stories of Encounter” at USML and that lecture was recently published in Chicago Studies, the journal of the university.
The evening also celebrated and recognized Msgr. Joseph for establishing the M. John and Anne Joseph Endowed Scholarship at USML, “to perpetuate, partially support and uphold the educational and scholarship work of the School of Parish Leadership and Evangelization with direct tuition assistance to our Hispanic students attending The University of St. Mary of the Lake.”
