Bringing the Best Theology to the Parish
A Theological Journal for those Serving in Parish Ministry
Chicago Studies is a peer-reviewed, digital journal with a mission to bring the best theology to the parish. For over fifty years, Chicago Studies has been providing rigorous intellectual formation for those serving in parish ministry, from priests, deacons, and lay ecclesial ministers to directors of religious education, pastoral associates, chaplains, educators, and beyond. Rooted in the Roman Catholic tradition, we feature articles that are written from a wide variety of critical theological lenses and that cover an expansive range of concerns and questions encountered in ministry today. We welcome faithful and creative essays in pastoral, spiritual, historical, dogmatic, and moral theology, in addition to the areas of ecumenical and interreligious dialogue.
Chicago Studies is published by the Civitas Dei Foundation in collaboration with the Faculty of the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary. Each issue usually revolves around a theme, but submissions on any topic relevant to parish ministry are welcome for consideration.

Submissions
Our journal reflects the contemporary joys and challenges of serving the Church. To that end, we invite submissions that explore contemporary issues in parish ministry from a variety of critical theological lenses. Each issue usually revolves around a theme, but articles on any topic relevant to parish ministry are welcome for consideration. Contributions that are rigorous, written in an accessible manner, and relevant to parish ministry will be prioritized.
