Bringing the Best Theology to the Parish

Chicago Studies is a peer-reviewed, digital journal published by the Faculty of the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary with a mission to bring the best theology to the parish. The first issue of Chicago Studies was published in the spring of 1962, right before the opening of the Second Vatican Council, with the vision of a Church placed at the service of all, open to new knowledge and creative forms of evangelization.

Today Chicago Studies continues to bring the riches of high-quality theological reflection to bear on the concerns and questions encountered in parish leadership, ministry, and evangelization, as we strive to transform our lives and culture with the love of Christ. Rooted in the Roman Catholic tradition, we feature articles that are written from a wide variety of critical theological lenses and that cover an expansive range of concerns and questions encountered in ministry today. We welcome faithful and creative essays in pastoral, spiritual, historical, dogmatic, and moral theology, in addition to the areas of ecumenical and interreligious dialogue.

Each issue usually revolves around a theme, but submissions on any topic relevant to parish ministry are welcome for consideration.
