Please join us for a Special Mass and May Crowning at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake. Cardinal Cupich will be in the main celebrant and homilist. Following May Crowning, there will be an event honoring the support and philanthropy of Bill McEssy.
About Bill McEssy
Join us in celebrating the generous support and philanthropy of Bill McEssy, a benefactor who has had immeasurable impact on the University of St. Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary. Mr. McEssy’s financial commitment exceeds $8 million over his time with the University, and it continues. Mr. McEssy served on the USML/Mundelein Seminary board from 2002-2017, ten of those years as Chair. He has worked closely with two Cardinals—Cardinal George and Cardinal Cupich—and four Mundelein rectors – Monsignor John Canary, Monsignor Dennis Lyle, Bishop Robert Barron and Father John Kartje. As a community we will gratefully honor him on May 5th as the most generous donor in recent USML history, including endowments, scholarship support, numerous capital projects, campus beautification and restoration efforts, and more.

- Music provided by City Lights Orchestra under the direction of Rich Daniels
- Attendees can enjoy a self-guided tour or explore the campus grounds on their own.
- The bookstore/gift shop will also be open and public restrooms are available.
