The U.S. Constitution at Feehan Library
As you enter Feehan Library, this prominent piece is among the first features to draw your attention. Cardinal Mundelein believed strongly that American history should play a significant role in a seminarian’s education. In recognition of the sesquicentennial of the United States, he commissioned this stand, which features the Constitution of the United States alongside portraits of its signers.
As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, the University of Saint Mary of the Lake reaffirms its commitment to honoring the Constitution and upholding Cardinal Mundelein’s conviction that American history is an essential component of every citizen’s education.
