A Joyful Celebration: Sounds of the Season Christmas Concert 2024

On Sunday, December 8, 2024, the Chapel of the Immaculate Conception at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake’s Mundelein Seminary was filled with the sounds of Christmas joy and reflection during the annual Sounds of the Season Christmas Concert. Under the inspired direction of Music Director Linda Cerabona, celebrating her 20th year at USML, the evening was a spiritual and musical journey spanning 13 centuries, from the 9th century to the 21st century.

The seminary’s Christmas Choir, composed of 37 seminarians and deacons studying for the priesthood, represented over 16 dioceses from across the nation. Their performance showcased not only remarkable talent but also a deep commitment to the spiritual dimension of music, elevating the audience in a profound experience of faith and tradition.

From ancient chants to modern arrangements, the repertoire celebrated the timelessness of Christmas through the ages. The chapel’s grandeur and the heartfelt performances created an unforgettable atmosphere of reverence and celebration.
