Ordination 2022 Parking Instructions

We are looking forward to welcoming you to the ordination celebrations this year in the Archdiocese of Chicago.  Please refer to the information below that corresponds to the ordination Mass to which you have been invited.  Please note that admission to all ordinations is by ticket only.

Ordination of Permanent Deacons | Holy Name Cathedral, 735 N. State St., Chicago | May 14, 2022 | 10:00am

You are welcome to park in the garage across from Holy Name Cathedral, with entrance at 14 W. Superior Street, while space remains.  Please go down the ramp, take a ticket from the machine and park on levels 1 or 2 in any space that is not marked “reserved.”  Given that ordinations are a longer liturgy, the Cathedral will “lift” the exit gate for 90 minutes after the conclusion of the liturgy, so there is no need to validate your ticket.  You will be able to exit the garage through the open gate at no charge.  Please note that if you plan to stay downtown for lunch or any other activity and do not leaving the parking garage with the 90 minute post-Mass window, you will be fined $100 by the garage.

The Archdiocese of Chicago and Holy Name Cathedral invite those who desire to stay longer than the 90 minute window after each ordination to use parking apps such as SpotHero or find street parking for ordination day. There are many parking garages around the Cathedral that are user-friendly to SpotHero and give a large block of reservation time.

Ordination of Transitional Deacons | Mundelein Seminary, 1000 E. Maple Avenue | May 14, 2022 | 3:00pm

Our address is 1000 E. Maple Ave., Mundelein, IL 60060. Please enter our campus from Route 45, as the Route 176 entrance is closed. If you are using a GPS, entering “US-45 & University, Mundelein, IL 60048” will help you arrive at the correct gate. Follow the signs to the Purple Parking Lot that is located adjacent to the Welcome Center and the chapel. If that lot is full, public safety officers will direct you to the next available parking areas.
