Pray for our Seminarians

As our seminarians come to campus this month to begin the 2026-2027 academic school year please pray for them, for those forming them, and for those who are called to join them in formation.

Tee Up for a Brighter Future at the 35th Annual Rector’s Classic

Mark your calendar for Thursday, September 17, and join us for one of Mundelein Seminary’s most anticipated traditions—the 35th Annual Rector’s Classic. Whether you’re an avid golfer, a faithful supporter, or a business looking to make a meaningful impact, this is your opportunity to invest in the formation of tomorrow’s priests while enjoying a memorable day of fellowship and fun. The event begins at Pine Meadow Golf Club with lunch, golf, contests, and special gifts before continuing on the beautiful campus of the University of Saint Mary of the Lake for a cocktail reception, dinner, and awards.

Your participation does more than make for a great day on the course—it helps provide the academic, spiritual, and pastoral formation that prepares seminarians to faithfully serve the Church for generations to come. Every golfer, dinner guest, sponsor, and donor plays a vital role in supporting this important mission.

This year’s event will also honor Daniel Love with the 2026 Cardinal Joseph Bernardin In Service of One Another Catholic Humanitarian Award, recognizing his extraordinary commitment to the Church, the University, and the countless lives he has touched through his generous service.

Register today and help us tee up for a brighter future.

Fr. August “Gus” Belauskas Visitation and Funeral

We sadly mourn the passing of Fr. Gus Belauskas, Prof. Emeritus at Mundelein Seminary. For more than 50 years, Fr. Gus was directly involved with the formation of future priests, first at Niles College Seminary and then at Mundelein, where he was a beloved teacher, spiritual director, formation advisor, cam priest, colleague, and friend.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him.

The life and legacy of Fr. Gus Belauskas will be celebrated beginning August 13th with a visitation at St. Gilbert Parish and a Funeral Mass on Aug 14th at USML.

For more information and to view the livestream of the Funeral Mass, visit usml.edu/belauskas-funeral.

Lumen Christi Award

Fr. Guillermo Trevino has been posthumously nominated by the Diocese of Davenport for the Catholic Extension Society’s 2026-2027 Lumen Christi Award, which recognizes people who bring the light of Christ to their communities. His ministry showed the true heart of a shepherd. As we mourn his passing from 2025, we celebrate the impact of his priesthood and his bond with the Mundelein Seminary family. Join us in praying for his soul and to give thanks for his service to the Church. Learn more by clicking here.

A Synodal Church in the Age of Pope Leo

Saturday, September 26, 2026

Join us as we welcome Dr. Kristin Colberg, Professor of Theology, St. John’s University (Collegeville) and Co-author of The Future of Synodality for a lecture that will explore how the Church’s call to synodality is shaping Catholic leadership in a new era.
