The impact of the Pastoral Leadership Program in my Life

The program of Lay Ministry reincorporated me to the new life in Christ. Through this program, I received an integral formation that covered the personal, social and spiritual aspects of my being. I became more aware of my dignity inheritor of the Kingdom of God; a Kingdom of justice, peace and love that starts here and now. I learned to practice my Christian spirituality in my daily life, right where I am established, starting at home with my wife and children, with my neighbor, at my workplace and community. Furthermore, during the course I did an analysis of the reality of my parish and guided by the Spirit of God through the Sacred Scriptures, I realized that evangelization is difficult without education. I am now committed in giving formation to adults in my home parish in Blue Island, IL. This program summoned me to look for ways to have a social impact, through the “culture of encounter” (Pope Francis) I now look for ways to connect with those that are suffering and oppressed. Furthermore, inspired by the professor of the course “Mission and Ministry” I decided to become a student at CTU (Catholic Theological Union) to pursue a degree in theological and pastoral studies in order to better prepare myself to be an instrument of God that builds bridges so that others can get close to Jesus and reach the will of God in their lives which is ultimately the way of true personal realization and happiness.
El Impacto del Curso de Liderazgo Pastoral en mi Vida
El programa de Liderazgo Laico me reincorporo a la vida nueva en Cristo. Durante la orientación me sentí llamado por Dios de una manera personal y profunda a participar en la misión de la Iglesia. En el programa hice conciencia profunda de mi dignidad como hijo de Dios heredero del Reino de justicia, paz y amor que se encuentra aquí y ahora. Recibí una formación integral que abarco la dimensión personal, espiritual, pastoral e intelectual. Aprendí a practicar mi espiritualidad cristiana desde lo cotidiano, desde donde estoy plantado, en mi hogar con mi esposa e hijos, con el prójimo, en el trabajo y comunidad. Durante el curso realicé un análisis de la realidad de mi parroquia y me di cuenta de que es difícil la evangelización sin educación. Ahora estoy comprometido junto con un equipo en la formación de adultos de mi parroquia en Blue Island, IL. Inspirado por el programa, busco oportunidades de practicar la “cultura del encuentro” (Papa Francisco) teniendo dialogo profundo con los que sufren marginalización y opresión. Gracias a un miembro de la facultad de Liderazgo Laico que nos impartió el tema “Misión y Ministerio” me decidí a continuar mi formación Teológica y Pastoral en CTU (Union Católica de Chicago) y así estar más preparado para ser instrumento de Dios que construya puentes para que otros se acerquen a Jesύs y realicen la voluntad De Dios en sus vidas, único camino de realización personal y a la felicidad.
