IDS started the Fall Semester with the Aspirant/Wives Welcoming Retreat at Marytown on August 26-27, 2017; facilitated by our Director of Spiritual Formation, Fr. Bernard Kennedy, OFM. It was a wonderful opportunity for us and the new cohort (nine married couples and three single men) to get to know each other and pray together.
Later our new Aspirants and Wives joined Candidates and Wives from Years 1-3 in the Welcoming Mass. Fr. John Kartje, Rector of USML, celebrated the Mass and spoke eloquently about the experience of exploring the possibility of diaconal ministry and what it means for both husband and wife to offer their whole selves to the Lord in this way.
