USML Resets Tuition for Graduate Degree Programs in its Institutes

The University of Saint Mary of the Lake (USML) announced today that graduate tuition for programs in the institutes will be reset to $795 per credit hour beginning in the fall 2023 semester.

The tuition reset represents a more than 25 percent reduction in the rates and applies to new and current students in the program. “This tuition reset represents our commitment to educating and forming lay people for parish ministry, including liturgical ministry and Christian leadership,” said Dr. Brian Schmisek, Provost.

The university is known primarily for Mundelein Seminary, but also fosters several institutes offering graduate degree education, certificates, and deacon formation programs in English and Spanish. As one of the most populated and largest archdioceses in the country, USML plays a critical role in forming people for parish ministry not only in Chicago but for the global Church.

USML is the home to Roman Catholic theological education located within the Archdiocese of Chicago. The university maintains six schools and institutes that prepare students for ministry: Mundelein Seminary, the Institute for Pastoral Leadership, the Institute for Diaconal Studies, Instituto de Liderazgo Pastoral, The Liturgical Institute, and The Pontifical Faculty of Theology.
