Phase 3:
Launching New Formation Programs
The final phase of the project will ensure that this work continues to bear fruit long after the grant concludes.
Phase 3 will launch the newly refined formation programs while establishing an ongoing process for evaluating, updating, and strengthening catechetical leadership education. Rather than creating a one-time initiative, the project is building a sustainable model of continuous renewal—one that responds to the changing needs of parishes, embraces the Church’s call to synodality, and remains attentive to the voices of those serving in ministry.
The relationships formed through the Learning Communities will continue beyond the grant as a growing network of clergy and lay leaders committed to supporting one another, sharing best practices, and strengthening parish life throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago. Their collaboration will help ensure that catechetical renewal becomes parish renewal—forming leaders who accompany others in faith, foster vibrant communities, and help the Church thrive for generations to come.
