Vocation Story

I heard the call to become a priest when I was thirteen years old. When I first heard the call, I was afraid to follow it, so for the next six years, I fought the call and tried very hard to ignore it. But, as always, God was stronger in the end. On December 23, 2010, when I was a senior in high school, I surrendered to my vocation and made the decision to enter Seminary. I was immediately filled with a great sense of peace. In May of 2011, I was accepted as a seminarian for the Diocese of Lafayette, IN, and I entered St. John Vianney College Seminary that August. By the end of my first year of Seminary, I was not only at peace with my vocation to the priesthood, but I also began to develop a love and a desire for the priesthood. I couldn’t see myself doing anything else other than being a priest of Jesus Christ. God’s will and my will were united, and that created a joy in my heart that has never gone away. I graduated from St. John Vianney College Seminary/University of St. Thomas in May of 2015, and that August, I entered Mundelein Seminary to begin my first year of theological studies. I am currently in my second year of theology, and I will be ordained a priest in the Spring of 2019. I long to give my life to Jesus, to His Church, and to His people as a priest.

Priest Aspirations

I look forward to being an instrument to help the People of God get to Heaven. In particular, I look forward to celebrating the Sacraments, preaching and teaching, and counseling people in their spiritual lives.

How can Mundelein's donors and community pray for you?

All I ask is for people to pray that I become a holy priest who has the heart of Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
