Vocation Story

I am from Loja Ecuador. I studied elementary school with the Dominican sisters, and high school with the Marist brothers in my city Loja. Then, at college I did chemist engineering. Having done my sacraments at the age of 18 and 19. I was involved with catechism preparation at one Franciscan parish. At my last year of college, I had the opportunity to attend Franciscan Retreat for 15 days. I felt in love with the Franciscan style of life and I decided to become Franciscan friar. I was in the Order (OFM) in my country, for six years. During this time, I finished my studies of Philosophy. After that for my pastoral year I was sent to Guayaquil City to serve in a parish. In that year, I met some diocesan seminarians and I wanted to have a diocesan life experience. Thank God I had the opportunity to come to Chicago on September 2013. As a candidate for the Archdiocese of Chicago. Now I am in my third year of Theology here at Mundelein Seminary. God willing, I will a good priest. Please keep me in your prayers and one day with God’s grace and your help I will be a good and happy priest for the Archdiocese of Chicago.

How can Mundelein's donors and community pray for you?

Mention my name “Vinny”, “Vinicio” or “Vincent”, praying that may God make me a good priest.
