Besides our Lady it would have to be St. John Vianney

Vocation Story

I worked as a behavioral health technician shortly after moving from Detroit to Tucson. It was in working with the mentally ill and substance abuse population that I was drawn deeper into my Catholic faith. At one point I thought God was calling me to become a deacon and a professional counselor. I am so grateful for the support and affirmation that I have received along the path to priesthood.

Priest Aspirations

Helping people restore and strengthen their relationship with Jesus Christ.

What has been your favorite/most memorable story of your time at Mundelein thus far?

When Fr. Kartje was named our new rector at the Mass of the Holy Spirit in 2015. He had been my spiritual director for two years, and wasn’t expected to be Bishop Barron’s replacement. I never thought I would be “happy” to lose Fr. Kartje as my spiritual director, but I was overjoyed that he was given such an important role in forming us to become the best parish priests we can be. When Archbishop Cupich made the announcement, the entire main chapel immediately erupted in a standing ovation for our newly appointed rector. That was an unforgettable moment!

Anything Else

I am so grateful for the opportunity to be a priest of Jesus Christ for the People of God!

How can Mundelein's donors and community pray for you?

I want to do my part in building the seminary community while preparing to return to Tucson for parish life after ordination. This will require a balancing act between spiritual life, academics, apostolic work, and social life. Please pray that I can maintain the balance according to God’s plan for me.
