Vocation Story | While working at the Newman Center at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, I grew closer to Christ and the mission of bringing others into the church. I learned just as much about the faith from the students as they did from me. As I traveled in the diocese, I saw the outpouring of good lay people who wanted a shepherd to lead and be with them during the good and bad days. The more I thought about the priesthood the more the Lord brought it up in prayer. Finally, after the movie Father Stu, I saw the life of a priest and seminarian and knew it was one filled with challenges but also so many gifts. After that, I knew I was being called, and ever since it has been one blessed day after another. |
