Vocation Story

Originally, I wanted to be a priest as early as 4 or 5 years old. The thought faded and I didn’t think about it until my freshman year of high school. After attempting to ignore the call at that point, three things would inspire me to enter the seminary: Number one, the spring of my junior year of high school I met a joyful priest who not only had an impressive baseball career before becoming a priest, but was on fire for the Catholic faith. Number two, I learned about the life of Pope John Paul II, who was an actor, poet, athlete, and outdoorsman, and gave it all up to lay down his life for others as a priest. Number three, I began to attend Eucharistic Adoration. Encountering the love and the Person of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist would be the ultimate factor that inspired me to enter the seminary after graduating high school.
