Vocation Story

The question “What about the priesthood?” really got off the ground when my high school team won the state championship my sophomore year. The happiness that came from it quickly drifted away, and I was forced to try and find something that would be fulfilling. The faith became very real for me as I understood the Christ-like life to be the only way that I would be fulfilled. As the years went on, peace in times of prayer really started building around the priesthood. In addition, talking with other seminarians and a spiritual director who was immensely helpful at clarifying desires, led to me entering seminary. God was very patient with me, as it took nearly eight years after that climactic game before I entered seminary. I’m really grateful for that time, as the Lord allowed me to really walk right up to the ‘Y’ in the road before choosing seminary. In some ways that made the decision harder, as walking away from my job and the potential for marriage was really hard. However, the time of seminary has brought immense joy and a clarity as to what God was up to in nudging me toward the priesthood years ago.

Priest Aspirations

I look forward to the opportunity to be an instrument by which people are inspired to enter into and deepen their prayer and relationship with Jesus Christ.

How can Mundelein's donors and community pray for you?

Prayers that our hearts would be fashioned more and more to the Sacred Heart.
