Vocation Story

While studying abroad in Florence, Italy the summer after my sophomore year at Vanderbilt, I began to attend daily Mass. At the consecration, as I listened to the words of Jesus at the Last Supper saying, “This is my body,” I felt a sense that God might be calling me to serve at His altar. But like most young guys with plans of getting married one day, the thought of seminary scared the heck out of me, and initially, I tried to suppress it. Yet as I listened more in prayer, when I returned home, I began to actively discern the priesthood. After deciding to serve as a Totus Tuus missionary instead of taking the MCAT the summer after my junior year, I was confident that God was calling me to seminary. I completed my pre-theology studies at the Pontifical College Josephinum in Columbus, OH, and I am excited to begin my journey here at Mundelein!
