St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Pedro de Jesús Maldonado
I grew up in Chihuahua, Mexico. There I got to know the pastor of my parish. He was a great person, and I wanted to be like him. Thus, since I was a kid I used to say, “I want to be a priest.” That desire to be priest continued to take root in my heart as I attended Religious Education classes, and later on as I joined the youth group. Experiencing the love of my friends in the youth group made me grow firmer in my vocation. I moved to El Paso, TX when I was 15. Since then, El Paso has been my home. I discovered there another aspect of my vocation: being at the service of the immigrants. This is why I felt called to be a priest in El Paso.
