I enjoy playing or watching sports, playing guitar, traveling and spending time outdoors, especially in the mountains.
I went sky diving and saw a full circle double rainbow in the sky. It was crazy.
St. Teresa of Calcutta and St. Josemaria Escriva
I thought about being a priest while growing up, but did not engage my calling in any depth until I was in college. After experiencing great joy in teaching the faith through a summer catechetical program called Totus Tuus, I devoted myself to daily Mass and greater prayer. I eventually had a deep personal encounter with Jesus Christ during Eucharistic adoration, and I just knew I had to go to seminary to give myself fully to discernment. There have been many moments of consolation along the way, which have helped me to persevere. Most of all, I remember serving for the funeral of Msgr. Thomas McGread. At the end of the Mass, all of the priests sang the Salve Regina as a way to “send his soul home” to our blessed mother and her Son. Right then, I knew that was how I wanted to leave this world, so I should strive to live in the same way.
I am most looking forward to celebrating Mass, hearing Confessions, and being a spiritual father to numerous individuals and families.
|What has been your favorite/most memorable story of your time at Mundelein thus far?||
One Saturday last fall, a couple other seminarians and I went down to the city of Chicago to serve and pray with the Missionaries of Charity. The experience has stuck with me because the witness of the sisters’ deep courage, genuine joy, and spiritual wisdom reminds me of what we receive when we radically surrender everything to the Lord.
|How can Mundelein's donors and community pray for you?||
Please pray that I never fear to cast out into the deep, to give my entire self to Jesus Christ and His Church.
