Vocation Story | I first heard the voice of the Lord calling me to be his priest when I was a 15 years old. I fought the possibility of being a priest for a year until the Lord won my heart and revealed in me a desire for priesthood through the hands of Our Lady. Every time I went to see Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament that year I always asked Mary to bring to a place where I could accept the Father’s will for my life because during those times I was not in that place. Throughout that year she gave me two seminarians who were living exciting lives following the Lord’s will and an amazing priest who was the chaplain of where I went to high school. All these of these men showed my the joy of following Jesus. After a year of being in their presence and learning from them that I noticed a growing desire to be a priest in my own heart. I wanted to celebrate the sacraments and be a mediator between God and men. |
Priest Aspirations | I am looking forward to walking with people and their families and sharing in their joys and sorrows. I also cannot wait to bring Jesus to his people through the sacraments. |
What has been your favorite/most memorable story of your time at Mundelein thus far? | The most memorable moment as a seminarian was when I was blessed to study abroad in Rome during college seminary. My time there extended past Christmas and I was able to celebrate the Nativity of Jesus in the eternal city. Two days before midnight Mass at St. Peter’s the papal MC asked the eleven of us seminarians if we would help out as extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist to all the people in the piazza. The privilege of giving Jesus to his people on the solemnity of his nativity was incredible and something I will not be able to forget. |
How can Mundelein's donors and community pray for you? | Please pray that I may surrender everything to the Lord every day that I may always recognize his will and run after it. Also please pray for my family especially my brother and sister as they strive to follow Jesus in the path he has planned for them. |
