Vocation Story

I grew up in a Catholic family where we went to mass weekly and prayed together as a family. My mother used to take me to daily Mass with her when I was in kindergarten, and it was then that I first told my mom that I wanted to become a priest. As I grew older I always had a love for the priesthood, but I never knew how to pursue that vocation. I started to enjoy school in high school and began to think about a married vocation and working after college. I worked as a data analyst and email marketer for about 4 years before finally pursuing a vocation as a religious and future priest. The vocation of the priesthood came back to me in a strong way when I started working in downtown Chicago and was able to go to daily Mass. Receiving Our Lord in Holy Communion every day really helped me realize how much I love God and the Church, and nothing else filled me with as much peace. With God’s grace and the help of Mary, The Immaculate Conception, I joined the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius back in the summer of 2016. It has been a beautiful journey so far, and I can’t wait to see where God takes me next!
