Vocation Story

At the age of 10, I passionately wanted to teach like Fr. James who was our parish priest at the time. I wanted to teach the “truth.” This hunger to teach the truth made me join a minor seminary after grade school. Then, I joined a religious community – the Schoenstatt Fathers where my formation began.
During my formation years, I encounter first hand the trauma and devastation of war while in East Africa (Burundi and the Congo DR); and the militancy of the youths in the oil-rich Niger Delta creeks of Nigeria. After working with the youths in these conflict areas, it became obvious to me that I would want to go beyond my formation period at the Schoenstatt Fathers to avail myself in service to these restive youths in the Niger Delta creeks, through advocacy for social justice.

Five years later, as I came to realize, I had “unfinished business with the Lord.” The Holy Spirit led me to wrestling grounds and like Jacob, I wrestled with the Lord. His words were clear to me: “Feed my sheep, and you can still, and will, serve even better the course of Social Justice in the world as a shepherd to my people. For I am Justice.” This drew me to the Jesuit School of Theology of the Santa Clara University, where I re-opened myself to graduate theological studies, ministerial and pastoral formation as I responded to that inner call to serve. This led me to join the Diocese of San Jose and now I am putting myself to the service of God’s people, whilst completing formation at Mundelein Seminary.

Priest Aspirations

I look forward to being a shepherd that smells like his sheep, as we journey to greener pastures in the Lord.

How can Mundelein's donors and community pray for you?

Pray one “Hail Mary” in a decade for God’s grace on me, whenever they pray the rosary.
