To honor Mary, our Patroness, a public Mass and May Crowning were held on campus. Our Chapel of the Immaculate Conception was full of seminarians, their families, Mundelein neighbors and supporters.

From the chapel, the crowd processed to the Pati Dowdle Memorial Garden for the crowning of our Mary statue. Deacon Tom Quirk (Theology IV, Tucson), President of the Confraternity of Our Lady, a group devoted to our mother, did the honors of crowning Mary. Father John Kartje reminded guests that all are welcome to visit  The University of Saint Mary of the Lake campus any day between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 pm.

The rest of the day included brunch in Mundelein Hall, trolley tours through campus, architectural tours led by Dr. Denis McNamara, and a presentation on the current Mundelein hall art exhibit, “Searching for Jehanne – The Joan of Arc Project” by artist Susan Aurinko.
