Mass for the Preservation of Peace and Justice

Posted on January 23, 2020

Every year we hold a Mass for the Preservation of Peace and Justice as a remembrance near the celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and all he did to bring about peace and justice in our nation, but also to raise awareness of the many facets of peace and justice in our Church and how our faith calls us to respond. At this time, it is meaningful for us to gather around the Altar of the Lord and pray for peace and justice for all God’s people. In addition, we prayed intentionally for all unborn children.

We were blessed to welcome Very Reverend Anthony Pizzo, O.S.A. Fr. Tony who is the Prior Provincial of the Midwest Augustinians. For many years he served as Pastor of St. Rita of Cascia Parish on the South Side of Chicago as well as one of the Deans in Vicariate V. Listen to his homily below, and may we continue to pray for peace and justice in our world.
