Theology III seminarians put their skills to the test with a baptismal practicum in “The Deacon and the Liturgy” class as they continue their journey toward ordination to the transitional diaconate in May.
Seminarians took turns leading the baptismal rite as the priest, while their classmates took on various roles of parents, godparents or the baby’s older siblings who are witnessing the baptism. The presiding seminarian also offered a homily during the ceremony, and his technique was critiqued by his peers and instructor at the conclusion of the practicum.
The baby dolls–affectionately referred to as Zoe and Chloe–have been baptized hundreds of times over the years by seminarians learning how to administer the sacrament.
Please continue to pray for our seminarians as they continue to discern their call to be the next generation of holy, joyful parish priests.
