Congratulations to Mundelein alumnus Msgr. John C. Iffert ’97, a priest for the Diocese of Belleville, who was appointed by Pope Francis to serve as the next bishop of the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky.
Bishop-elect Iffert is succeeding Bishop Roger J. Foys, whose resignation due to his age was accepted by Pope Francis on July 13. Bishop-elect Iffert had served as vicar general and moderator of the Curio in the Diocese of Belleville since Oct. 1, 2020.
