Scheduled Retreats for 2020

The Lord invites us to “Come away and rest awhile” with him.

The Institute for Pastoral Leadership has three planned retreats for 2020


JANUARY 24-26, 2020

Begin the new year with time away with Christ for silence and reflection.  You will have the  opportunity to be accompanied on this retreat by individual meetings with a spiritual director. There will also be Mass on Saturday and Sunday, time for adoration and the Sacrament of Penance. The Retreat is limited to 21 women.

The Spiritual Directors for this weekend are: Mrs. Kathy Andrews, Ms. Marial Corona (bi-lingual), Ms. Patricia Klein (bi-lingual), Ms. Kathleen Murphy and Dr. Catherine Sims.

Cost of the retreat:  $260 per person (includes private room and bath and all meals)  Includes a $50, non-refundable deposit.  No refunds for cancellations after January 10, 2020.   Commuter option – without bedroom – is $150Registration deadline is January 19, 2020

Spiritual Direction:  Each participant is responsible for paying the stipend of $40, directly to the spiritual director for one session.  Additional meetings are also possible at a reduced cost.

Fr. Edward Pelrine, Retreat Director

 This retreat will be a day of reflection on what it means to be a Catholic Christian man in today’s challenging culture.  Father Ed Pelrine is the Associate Dean of Formation, Director of Spiritual Life, Dean of Admissions at Mundelein Seminary.  The retreat will be held at the University of Saint Mary of the Lake Conference Center, building 400.
COST:  $55 per person which includes lunch and the stipend for the retreat director.  No refunds for cancellations after February 29, 2020.

Our Retreat Director:
Father Ed has an M. Div. from the University of St. Mary of the Lake and an M.B.A. from Loyola University of Chicago,.  He was ordained a priest 2001 for the Archdiocese of Chicago and is the former Pastor of Queen of the Rosary Parish, Elk Grove Village (2007-2015), former associate pastor St. Celestine Parish, Elmwood Park (2003-2007) and St. Cajetan Parish, Chicago (2001-2003).  Father Ed was a member of the Presbyteral Council of the Archdiocese of Chicago (2011-2015) and is a member of the College of Consultors of the Archdiocese of Chicago (2014-present), former director of the Johnson O’Connor Foundation in Chicago (1987-1997).

Women at the Lake with Christ

At the University of St. Mary of the Lake Conference Center

Weekend retreat that focuses on Jesus and his ministry near the Sea of Galilee.  The retreat will consist of some input as well as plenty of time to spend at the lake and walking this beautiful campus.
