Honoring Hero Priests at the 2020 Rector’s Classic

Posted on September 18, 2020

We were blessed with a glorious day of sunshine and cool breezes for our annual Rector’s Classic Golf Outing, which raised more than $80,000 to provide a bright future for seminarian formation at Mundelein Seminary. We are so grateful to all who attended for their support of our mission.

More than 60 golfers and friends joined us for a round of golf and an evening presentation highlighted by three Archdiocese of Chicago priests accepting the 2020 “In Service of One Another” Catholic Humanitarian Award on behalf of all the heroic priests who responded to the pandemic with faith, compassion and creativity. Watch the video below to hear inspiring remarks from Father Mark Augustine (Class of 2013), Father Sergio Rivas (Class of 2012) and Father Marty O’Donovan (Class of 1978).

Click here to read more #HeroPriests stories from the more than 100 submissions we received from parishioners across the country and around the world. Thank you to everyone who shared their stories of gratitude for the heroic responses of their parish priests in dealing with the pandemic. Please continue to pray for your priests and for an increase in vocations to the priesthood.
