Chicago Studies Appoints New Editor

The University of Saint Mary of the Lake has named Dr. Patty Pintado-Murphy as the new editor of Chicago Studies, succeeding Dr. Juliana Vazquez, who completed a successful three-year term leading the journal. The University extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Vazquez for her dedicated leadership and the many contributions she made in strengthening the publication during her tenure.
Dr. Pintado-Murphy brings extensive experience as a scholar, teacher, and editor to the role. Before joining the faculty at Mundelein Seminary, she served as an assistant professor of philosophy at the Pontifical College Josephinum, where she was managing editor of the Josephinum Journal of Theology. Since joining the University of Saint Mary of the Lake, she has distinguished herself through her teaching, scholarship, and commitment to the formation of future priests, deacons and lay ecclesial leaders.
As editor, Dr. Pintado-Murphy will lead a publication that for more than fifty years has provided intellectual formation for those serving in parish ministry. A peer-reviewed digital journal, Chicago Studies is dedicated to “bringing the best theology to the parish” by publishing faithful, accessible, and intellectually rigorous scholarship rooted in the Roman Catholic tradition.
