Celebrating the Teaching Parish Program

Posted on April 29, 2019

More than 400 people gathered at Mundelein Seminary to celebrate the Teaching Parish Program, an innovative aspect of the seminary experience that gives seminarians pastoral experience by assigning them to a parish where they spend time throughout their formation.

More than 80 parishes from the Archdiocese of Chicago and other nearby dioceses are designated as teaching parishes, each with a lay committee assigned to mentor the seminarian and help him integrate into parish life.

Representatives from many of these parish committees attended the celebratory Mass and reception, where they were able to mingle with other teaching parish lay board members and the seminarian community.
