2017 Sounds of the Season Concert

Posted on December 4, 2017

The Advent Season is intended to foster in our hearts a spirit of anticipation for a renewed savoring of the miracle of our Lord’s Incarnation. With great joy we welcomed hundreds of friends and neighbors to the annual Christmas Concert, featuring the beautiful  music of Rich Daniels and the City Lights Orchestra, and the Mundelein Seminary Choir under the direction of our Director of Music, Linda Cerabona. The morning started out with a champagne brunch in our Refectory, and the beautiful weather made for an enjoyable walk across campus to the Cardinal Mundelein Auditorium.

A deep appreciation for the arts constitutes an integral part of the priestly formation of every seminarian. At Mundelein, we are greatly blessed with a thriving music program that includes Schola, African, Asian and Spanish choirs, Chant Schola, Brass Ensemble, String Quartet and a host of talented cantors and musicians drawn from among the students and faculty. With this rich variety, we are able to enter more profoundly into the many cultural elements that are represented by liturgy in the Universal Church.

We pray that the music and fellowship enjoyed at this event only increase the anticipation for our Lord and serve as heartfelt witness to the love of our God, who so desired to be with us that He took on our very flesh and blood. Thank you to everyone who attended and to our seminarian choir:
