We welcomed Most Reverend Robert W. McElroy, guest lecturer and Bishop of San Diego, California, to campus for the Meyer Lecture Series. Appointed by Pope Francis in 2015, he previously served as auxiliary bishop of San Francisco. Holding doctoral degrees in both political science (Stanford) and moral theology (Gregorian), Bishop McElroy has published books on American public theology, morality and its relationship to U.S. foreign policy, and ethics in international relations.
His two lectures, “An Errand into the Wilderness: The Healing of Our Nation” and “Would the Good Samaritan Have Gone to War?” are both available below, along with responses from our faculty.
