The Chants of Lent

During the season of Lent the Church journeys with Christ through the desert and to the Cross of Calvary through the celebration of the sacred liturgy. Psalmist Workshop, Psalms of Holy Week and Easter

The Psalmist has a unique and important role to play in the celebration of the liturgy. The General Instruction of the Roman Missal stresses that “it is necessary for the psalmist to be accomplished in the art of singing Psalms and have a facility in public speaking and elocution” (see art. 102), and therefore this workshop will expound upon the techniques proper to the ministry of the Psalmist, through a practical exploration of the Responsorial Psalms of Holy Week and Easter.
